exciting post title, right? well i have been hit with the lurgy and thats about the extent of my creative title and post content ;-P

I made a quick birthday present for a friends 3y.o over the weekend, a car carrier and track mat :)

I am testing things out so it may look a little wacky around here for a bit.

the birthday cake adventure

Here it is, it was easier than I thought, although more time consuming than I anticipated ;)

Overall I think it looks good, especially for a first attempt at a "character" cake, the actual cake was delicious too which makes it even better :)

Buttercream icing and fondant letters, licorice lines ;)

New design

I made a bag using a verypurpleperson tutorial, it looks great and will be making more I can see, but I will have to modify the pattern, I didnt like turning through the handle and it limits the thickness of fabric you can use ;)

We have been getting a few veggies out of the garden lately, they taste so good but arent always the prettiest little guys lol, here are some freaky looking carrots

My daughter wanted a 'Cosmo Purse' after she saw the first one I made :)

Unusually so, she didnt want to spend months choosing fabrics and being annoyingly indecisive (I wonder where she gets that from?) she just wanted exactly the same colors, but a different button, as I had used in the first one! yay! easy peasy :)

So here is her purse

I also made one for the "shop" which I will list tonight, I love this Amy Butler fabric, the colors are just beautiful :)

it's finished!

Here is the little project I have been working on for quite a while, from design to drafting to making has been a long process, partly due to waiting for the mail from overseas to finish it off and partly due to that annoying perfectionist part of me! 

So here it is - with a handmade wooden button which is purely for decoration, it has a magnetic snap underneath that does the real job of closing it!

And here is a sneak peek at the latest custom designed handbag which was sold on Madeit, I love this color combo and cant believe how well matched the Amy Butler fabric is with the drill I had in my stash!

I tried a new technique with this bag that I really liked too - Boning - I had previously found the top handle panels were not quite holding up their end of the deal so I added boning to the top of them and they now support the width much better :}

Introducing......... The 80's Mix Tape Purse! {and a giveaway}

Seeing this fabric brings back so many memories of "mix tapes" shared with friends and boyfriends, back in the days before iPods and MP4 players, when having 500 songs meant a whole big box of tapes! lol ;)
